The guy was on time.

Felt scammed.

My mother (80 yrs old) called Highland Electric for a quote on installing a outlet on her back porch. Bill quoted her a price of $150-160. After checking with me & my husband she called HE back and scheduled for the following day. The electrician arrived on time, worked for 1 hr and 10 min. He then handed her a bill for $320...double the quoted price!!!! My mother was so flustered and afraid they'd put a lein on her home she paid the man, but then called me. I called H.E. and talked to Bill. We came to an agreement and he would refund her $120 and would put it on Cheryls desk to be mailed out the next day (9-24-08). It's now 11-13-08 and we've made numerous calls and talked to both Bill and Cheryl. We've got so many stories and excuses. My husband called at 4:04pm on 11-12-08 and asked for the manager "Liz", which is posted on the BBB site. He was told that she had just left work and would be back tomorrow morning at 7am. I called back at 9am, now we were told that she no longer works there. I asked to speak to whoever was in charge, Bill told me that would be Cheryl. I asked to speak to her supervisor, I was then told she was the owner. Cheryl then told me that my mother had to call them and give her ok for them to talk to me about her bill. My mother called within 2 minutes, now Cheryl told her she had to do it in writing. I've asked for the owners name and was told "we can't give out that information. Our phone calls go no further that Bill or Cheryl. We have been lyed to, put off and have been treated with the utmost disrepect. My mother lives on a very fixed income and this bill was half of her monthy income! This was a disgrace for H.E. to go in and double her bill, they didn't even give her the choice of not doing the work..they just went ahead and did it!!! We've been told "the checks in the mail", we need to "gather more information" and a complete run around. I would never hire this company or refer this company to anyone..
